Mumbai retail chain's initial venture into Vadodara

VADODARA:
Mumbai-based retail chain DMart, a supermarket retail chain, plans to set up six hypermarkets in Vadodara.
The supermarket will come up on over 60 thousand square feet of land.
DMart will be first to set up a supermarket in Vadodara and shoppers will have the advantage to shop for everything, from groceries, fruits, vegetables to garments- all under one roof.
Projects by Future Group, Dev Star Mall, ISCON, Seven Seas and Reliance are already on in Vadodara but the low cost supermarket venture of Mumbai-based retailer will be the first in the concept of supermarket retail chain, catering to middle and higher group.
The retail chain has bought corporation land at Manjalpur, Vasna and Akota in an auction recently. It has also bought a plot in Makarpura and has plans to buy two plots in Karelibaug.
According to sources, the company has similar plans for Ahmedabad and Surat as well.
