Bilateral trade with Ireland & Germany soars

Sources from the Commerce Ministry revealed that during the last three years Pakistan's bilateral trade with Ireland and Germany have significantly increased to US $4870.488 million.

The major exports to these countries are cotton fabrics, manufactured articles of textile material, clothing and textile fabrics, carpets, rugs among others.

The country imports machinery and parts, chemicals along with other products from Germany and Ireland.

The sources also revealed that during 2003-04, Pakistan's export to Germany was $606.694 million while the import was $1218.532 million.

Pakistan's major exports to Germany includes clothing of textile fabrics, cotton fabrics, made up articles of textile materials, synthetic artificial fibre, leather manufactured goods etc.

During 2004-05 Pakistan export to Germany was $688.588 million while the import was $896.582 million and in year 2005-06 the country's export was $687.368 million while the import substantially increased to $1176.553 million.

During last three years the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Ireland was recorded $202.865 million.

In 2003-04 the Pakistan Ireland bilateral trade was $48.29 million which includes $31.097 million export and $17.193 million import.

During 2004-05 the country's export to Ireland was $34.803 million while import was 37.752 million and in 2005-06 Pakistan export was $42.794 million while import from Ireland was $39.226 million.
