Textile & apparel exports increase in Feb

During February 2007, Vietnam exported textiles and apparel worth $420 million, registering 73.7 percent rise in exports from the previous month and up 37.7 percent compared to same period last year.
Regarding deals made in the month, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Group (Vinatex) signed two contracts. One was with Thien Nam Co Ltd and the other with Korean firm Teachang Group for constructing a denim fabric manufacturing plant.
An investment of $40 million is planned for this unit, which will have production capacity of 30 million meters of denim fabric per annum.
