International Cotton Conference concludes on a successful note

A 2-day International Cotton Conference concluded today in Mumbai, deliberating over improvements required, including sharing of information within the sector.

Held under the aegis of East India Cotton Association and Cotton Outlook international, UK, this conference's inaugural session was addressed by Sudripto Roy, IAS, Joint Secretary Ministry of Textiles Govt. of India while Wallace Darniel, International Cotton Association, USA, and J N Singh, Textile Commissioner, Government of India graced the event as chief guests.

K F Jhunjhunwala, President, EICA, and Ray Butler, Managing Director, Cotton Outlook, USA, were among the eminent speakers who addressed the inaugural session.

This conference was held with a view to analysing the Indian Cotton Industry in context of its pre-eminent position in world markets. There were 6 technical sessions held that deliberated over various aspects related to the industry and more than 550 delegates participated from all parts of the world.

Concluding on a successful note, P D Patodia, Past President, EICA proposed vote of thanks at the end of the session, today.
