Permanent Representative of Italy to the European Union (EU) Umberto Vattani urged Korea to visit Italy and viseversa so as to explore business opportunities.
He stressed that, “The overall bilateral trade exchange between Italy and Korea in 2006 amounted to US $7.2 billion, making Italy the third biggest trading partner of Korea in the EU.”
Vattani assured that this was just a start and with proper implementation of development ideas bilateral trade will break records.
He also encouraged Korean participation in Italian trade exhibitions, especially in jewelry, home-furnishing and accessory sector.
“We have high-level exhibitions in such areas as textiles, furniture, agricultural products, jewelry and wine. The know-how about the organizing of such exhibition would be helpful for our Korean counterparts,” he explained.
