The preliminary data released by China Customs also indicated that Chinese cotton imports from January to February 2007 declined 60.1 percent from the same period last year.
Since the end of last year, China enlarged cotton transportation from Xinjiang, which eased the tense situation of cotton supply in southeastern coast.
According to the data released by the General Administration of Customs on March 15 that China's coal imports in February were 3.93 million metric tons. In January-February period total imports were 8.63 million tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 65.8 percent.
The rapid rise in Chinese coal price in recent years highlighted the economy of coal imports. Coal imports continued this increase momentum in February.
