SSAFW winter collection to open on March 23

Sanlam SA Fashion Week, an important fashion platform, is introducing the national SSAFW Autumn/Winter Collections from March 23-24, 2007 at Museum Africa in Johannesburg.

This year SSAFW is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

At the SSAFW, designers will showcase new winter collections in front of industry opinion leaders, media & select clients in a different format.

Each designer will present the best of his collection and the focus will be on finest fabrics, strong silhouettes and highest quality workmanship in a signature collection.

Designers who will participate in the SSAFW Winter Collections include Abigail Betz, Amanda Laird Cherry, Jacques van der Watt, Bongiwe Walaza, Colleen Eitzen, Ephraim Molingoana and Terrence Bray among others.

The sponsors of SSAFW Winter Collections are Sanlam, Department of Arts and Culture, Five Roses, SABC 3, 5FM, Motorola, Peroni and MAC.

The collection of these designers will be available in stores nationwide from first April 2007.

Along with SSAFW winter collection, fashion exhibition will showcase pieces of historical dress and costume from African museum, like buttons, handkerchiefs, vintage garments, petticoats and swimwear from the late 18th century to the current day collection.
