Consultant and Economist of the Planning Commission Dr Aqdas Ali Kazmi recently said that textile industry was inefficient and inconsistent in their production and profits.
Now, textile players have responded by strongly claiming that the Government wanted to make the industry non-functional by publicizing such irrational comment.
Industry is objecting that such illogical reference was nothing but a media trial of textiles by ministry of finance and planning commission.
Agitated protestors of APTMA challenged, “Why the government was not ready to offer an exit plan to the industry if it has become inefficient and unnecessary for the country.”
APTMA also said that the report did not mention other shortfalls like poor infrastructure and high production costs in Pakistan.
