“We envisage attractive business opportunities in the United Kingdom and are very keen to translate the positive deliberations into trade ties.” This was the sentiment expressed by members of the CII SME IT Mission to the United Kingdom on their return to India.
Enthused by the success of the last CII SME Mission to the United Kingdom in June, 2006, and in keeping with CII's initiative to give Indian SMEs greater exposure to relevant technologies & innovations, CII Northern Region facilitated the second consecutive Mission to UK from 12th to 16th March 2007.
Considering the fact that the UK is India's second largest trading partner and the largest market for Indian IT Services, the Mission's broad intent was to enhance business ties as well as explore possibilities of Joint Ventures, information sharing on supply of know-how, patents, technical cooperation & opportunities for setting up partnership agreements with British SMEs, understanding potential business opportunities, networking & sharing best practices.
