Fabric sector records positive growth

According to data released by the State Statistical Bureau, in January-December 2006, China had 17,364 above-scale enterprises in fabrics industry.
In January-December 2006, fabrics industry realized an industrial output value of 1.196 trillion yuan, mounting 20.67 percent.
Total assets of the industry amounted to 938.9 billion yuan, up 14.99 percent over the previous year.
Sales income totaled 1.162 trillion yuan, climbing 20.74 percent.
Total profits achieved 40.878 billion yuan, 9.359 billion yuan over the previous year, an increase of 29.69 percent.
Export shipment value scored 250.922 billion yuan, a growth of 11.28 percent.
Overall employees of the industry were 4.6193 million, a rise of 3.28 percent.
