EPB adopts 'One District One Product' policy to enhance export

In order to enhance and diversify country's export, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has adopted a policy of 'one district one product' and has selected 14 products.
Government has taken this move after assessing the outcome of this experiment in Japan and Thailand. The exports earning of both countries have increases remarkably after implementing this policy.
The products selected for this concept are leather and leather goods, handicrafts, handloom items, herbal products and perfume among others.
To make this programme a success, EPB has joined hands with funding agencies, including Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Japan International Cooperative Agency (JICA) and South Asia Enterprise Development Facility (SEDF).
