SSI activities during March 2007

During the month of March 2007, the Ministry of Small Scale Industries (SSI) and Agro and Rural Industries continued to implement its various schemes, programmes, etc. to assist the promotion and growth of small enterprises.
Forty Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 45 Motivational Campaigns and 30 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO field institutions in different States during the month. Altogether, 6475 persons took part in these programmes.
NSIC conducted 52 Intensive Campaigns and 11 Marketing Promotion Seminars at various places in the country.
The National Institute of Small Industries Extension Training (NISIET), Hyderabad conducted 77 training programmes for 1764 participants.
The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati conducted 31 training programmes for 1206 participants. The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), NOIDA conducted 17 training programmes for 424 participants.
Under ISO-9000/14001 Reimbursement Scheme, an amount of Rs.0.88 crore was reimbursed to 190 SSI units and during the year 2006-07 an amount of Rs.12.80 crore has been reimbursed to 2797 units.
