Textile Ministry is planning to develop a fashion site in South Delhi and is waiting for land allocation by Delhi Development Authority.

This project, already approved by Planning Commission, will offer latest fashion materials and finished products for not only shoppers but also retailers and apparel manufacturers.

Government hopes to showcase best of home décor, garment, fabric and even modern-styled khadi products, to make this venue a popular fashion mart for global consumers.

Sources say that this venture will be a private-public partnership with initial investment of around Rs1 crore from the Commission.

This site, expected to open by 2009, will be highly advanced in technology and will match any other international fashion shopping centre.
