S Korea keen to strengthen trade ties

The year of 2007 is the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and South Korea and the 'Year of Exchanges between China and South Korea'.

'2007 China-South Korea (Shaoxing) Textile Personnel Fair' was held in Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province on 27 - 28 April, aiming at introducing professionals from South Korean textile printing and dyeing industry.

Shaoxing County in Zhejiang Province is a large textile county in China. Many local enterprises now face development predicament, such as 'high input, low profitability and low value-added products' due to poor technology.

This fair aims at introducing professionals to promote research and development capabilities. About 50 experts from Korean textile printing & dyeing industry and research & development field came to the fair with more than 80 scientific and technological creations. They held discussions with over 300 Shaoxing textile enterprises and explored future possibilities for joint ventures.

Addressing the press, Korea Dyetex Engineering Co President said, “China has many people in textile industry and has a large number of products, but still needs to make efforts to strengthen technological innovation. Now with the globalization of textile industry, developing cooperation between China and South Korea will bear sweet fruits. South Korean textile professionals would be willing to come and work in China.”
