Hayat Bosan praises Govt's efforts to enhance cotton output

Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Sikandar Hayat Bosan said during the cotton seminar in Vehari, Punjab, that Pakistan was capable of enhancing its production, both, in terms of quantity as well as quality.
He explained that though country currently fell behind when it comes to per acre yield, it has the potential to produce 15 million bales which will attract much more foreign exchange.
Bosan applauded the Government and said that its efforts had raised the cotton output from only 10 million bales to nearly 14 million bales.
He said on government has provided subsidy worth Rs15 billion for fertilizers alone.
Managing Director Punjab Seed Corporation Brig (R) Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, Ex-District Nazim Mumtaz Khan Khichi, Director Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) Multan Muhammad Arshad, Presidential Award Winner Farmer Haji Maqbool Khan Khichi, MNA Aftab Khan Khichi and DCO Babar Hassan Bharwana also attended this event.
