Godrej Lifespace to extend its retail span

Godrej & Boyce announced plans to invest around Rs20 crores have raise the number of its Godrej Lifespace retail stores from the current 49 to over 100 by 2010.

In 2007 company is hoping to open about 15 new outlets.

Company has also allotted Rs50 crore for promotions and campaigns and Rs10 crore for manpower development so as to achieve the target turnover of Rs450 crore by 2010.

Godrej is designing ways to add new product categories and expects that by 2010, the southern region alone would account for revenues of Rs150 crore.

Lifespace Vice-president & Business Head, M Shyam Motwani, said, "We have presence in 25 cities of which our two existing stores in Hyderabad are the major contributors to sales. We are also looking at expanding our footprint to Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. By 2010, there will be at least seven conveniently located stores at key locations across Hyderabad and we will invest over Rs2.5 crore."
