Xinjiang lint yield average breaks thru 155 kg per mu

According to latest Xinjiang agricultural corporation statistics, lint production last year reached 278,000 tons, with average yield of 155 kilograms lint per mu, (one hectare equals 15 Chinese mu).
This represented a growth of 45,000 tons and 20 kilograms over the previous year, respectively, and an additional income of 425 million yuan.
The particularly heartening report is that, of the planted 1.793 million mu of cotton, 10,300 mu achieved an average lint yield of above 200 kilograms and 86,400 mu obtained an average lint yield of 180 kilograms. The general lint average yield is 155 kilogram.
