ACIMIT'S digital technological handbook in Arabic language

The official presentation of the digital technological handbook in Arabic language edited by ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, occurred last May 6th.

The presentation took place in Milan at ACIMIT's premises and saw the participation of 16 professors, coming from major universities with textile specialization, situated in the North-Africa and Middle East (i.e. in Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria and Tunisia).

This digital technological handbook, besides supplying information of special interest on the sector of Italian textile machines and on ACIMIT's activities, shows the state of the art of the Italian technology applied to textiles, and includes five handbooks on the development of the Italian technology in the sectors of spinning, weaving, knitting, finishing and man-made fibres production.

The five educational publications, which were realized on behalf of ACIMIT by some professors teaching at Italian textile institutes, were originally intended for the Italian students.

The wide success of this initiative (in total over 15 thousand copies were printed and distributed) induced however ACIMIT to have the handbooks translated into English and Chinese and now also into Arabic, and to transfer them onto CD-ROMs, as this working instrument better suits the needs of foreign students.

This initiative falls into the promotional projects which ACIMIT and ICE (the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade) keep on carrying out in favour of the Arab markets. These markets account for about 8% of the total value of the Italian export of textile machines, which in 2006 attained 2,091 million Euro.
