Medef Int stresses on bilateral trade improvement

Humayun Akhtar Khan, Commerce Minister in Pakistan Government, while attending a business roundtable conference at Medef International on May 14 stressed on the requirement of better market in Europe and need to establish bilateral trade relationship with France especially in textile sector.

Medef International, works towards creating a framework, adapted to the promotion of industrial and commercial agreements for the companies. It represents around 800,000 large, medium and small French enterprises in sectors like industry, commerce and services.

Many major French companies like Alcatel, Alstom, BNP Paribas, Accor, Danone, participated in the conference.

36 French companies are currently operating in Pakistan and many are trying to increase their presence here. The trade between two countries has grown steadily and crossed $1 billion mark.

Perigot, Chairman of Medef International, discussed initiatives to improve French and Pakistani businesses. According to him, there is a lot of scope for development of trade and investment relations between France and Pakistan.
