South Korea is looking to boost trade with Indonesia, especially in non-oil/non-gas commodities, textiles, handicrafts and leather goods. Indonesia`s non-oil/non-gas product imports marked US $3.4 billion, last year.
Currently, a 20-member team is touring Indonesia to analyze and recognize the possible areas of improvement.
The delegation has already met with over 50 Indonesian enterprises to explore opportunities for joint ventures and collaborations.
Secretary General of the Indonesian Trade Ministry, Hatanto Reksodipoetro, said, "Korea is Indonesia`s important trade and investment partner. Two-way trade in 2006 reached $10.57 billion, up 6.17 percent from 2005."
Indonesia's imports from S Korea reached $2.8 billion, in 2006. Reksodipoetro, further stressed, "Trade between the two countries can still be enhanced and developed if such a meeting can be held regularly." he said.
