A fashion show titled 'Namaste Asia' was organized by United Nations Women's Organisation (UNWO) at Hotel Yak & Yeti on May 19, in Katmandu, in an attempt to raise funds for scholarships of Tharu girls, construction of children's eco park near Bagmati River and provide support to old-age homes.
Models from asian countries like Tajikistan, Afghanistan, South Korea, China, Bangladesh, Japan, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines participated in this show.
Traditional dresses like Hanbok of South Korea, Kimono of Japan, Fariya Choli of Nepal, Salwar Kameez of Pakistan, Sari of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Qipao of China and Barong Tagalog of Philippines displayed on the ramp.
