Design Dapple 2007: Graduation day show of AIFD students

The first batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Technology passed out in the year 2006 Out of 6 students three students were placed in Sonal Garments, 2 of them had been retained as Design Coordinators for the Central Silk Board Project.
Institute has developed contacts with many reputed Industries to facilitate students for Internship and placements. Institute also has Advisory Committee which includes eminent personalities from Industries such as Shahi Export House, Madura Garments, Mandhanna Group of Industries, Prasad Bidapa Associates, Munch Design and eminent Academicians from Bangalore University to implement,establish and to meet the requirement of industries by making our students the best human resource in their respective fields.
The second batch of students from Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Technology show cased their creative designs through fashion show which was celebrated as Graduation Day cum Design Dapple'2007 on 16th May'2007 (Wednesday) at Ambedkar Bhavan, Vasanthnagar, Near Cantonment Railway Station, Bangalore and on the same day the students from the first batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Apparel Merchandising and Logistics Managements also graduated and students werepresented with degree certificates. About 50% of the present batch of students are already placed in leading garment retail industry through campus interviews.
The designs was judged in three categories : Best Designer wear , Best Creative wear, Best Commercial Wear and one more award was given for the best outgoing student.
The Prize winners felicitated by the Chief Guest Maj Gen B Sivasankar,VSM, General Officer Commanding, ATNK & K area, Chennai and the guest of honour Sri Subash Tiwari, Director, Shahi Export House, Sri K.K.Namboodiri, Chairman and CEO, Kristal Group, Bangalore and Brig Clement Samuel, Commander, K&K Sub area and Chairman, AIFD graced the occasion.
The students of AIFD are very active both in curricular & extra curricular activities. This year they have bagged more than 20 prizes in the inter college cultural competitions held at Bangalore.
AIFD also undertakes Consultancy and Projects works in the area of Design, Sourcing, Visual Merchandising, Market Survey etc, wherein deploys Faculties and students to carry out the same which gives practical exposure to the students.
