According to the statistical reports of China Customs, country exported around 620,000 sets of industrial sewing machines in the first quarter of 2007, a decrease of 5.17 percent.
However, the export value increased by 5.94 percent, touching US $137.1 million. The average price for each set was $221.
The quantity of industrial sewing machine needles exported was 248 tons, with a rise of 18.91 percent. The export value of the product was $2.78 million, a growth of 22.94 percent and average price set was $11,200 per ton, with a rise of 3.42 percent.
As the Chinese industry is producing high quality of industrial sewing machinery, its demand in the international market has grown leading to increased exports.
At the same time, the country imported 30,000 sets of industrial sewing machines, with a decrease of 18.8 percent. The import value of the product was $54.47 million, with a drop of 3.72 percent. Average import price for each machine was $1826 per set, a rise of 18.57 percent.
