Elmarco awarded for nanofibre unwoven textile machine

An award for outstanding design and managerial enterprise in the field of design was awarded to equipment from the Liberec company Elmarco called Nanospider at the end of last week. The nanofibre unwoven textile production machine, and the company itself, finished a close second in both categories. In the first case it lost by one vote to the new Škoda Joyster, and in the second to Patron Bohemia s.r.o., and Nové vinarství a.s..

The design awards announced are part of the National policy for the support of quality and price and are given under the patronage of the Czech Council for Quality, the Ministry for Industry and Commerce, and the event is presented by The Czech Design Centre.

The award ceremony which took place in the Betlémsky chapel in Prague, was attended by Ing. Pavel Novotný, accepted the award on behalf of Elmarco for managerial enterprise.

“Elmarco was given the award for successfully launching production of nanofibre textile materials into industrial production. The award for design was accepted by architect Alexius Appl, who designed the final version of the Nanospider. The same architect will co-operate with the company in future on the design of new development and production equipment for nanotechnologies and nanofibre applications and products” said Mr. Novotný.

The owner of the Liberec company Elmarco Ing. Ladislav Mareš is overwhelmed by this success in the 2007 National Design Awards. „ It shows that even a production machine or a non-commercial product such as nanofibre unwoven textiles can compete with beautiful cars,“ he said., whilst also conceding that its success might have been influenced by worldwide market interest in the Nanospider .
