Surat textile industry has taken a sigh of relief as Gujjar unrest settles down in Rajasthan. North India has been a major market for textile traders of Surat and the disorder created in Rajasthan has damaged the transportation to North India.
Speaking exclusively to fibre2fashion, D K Manghani, Acting President, Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (Fostta) said that the industry has incurred approximately loss of Rs1250 crore for May & June as per day they have business worth Rs20-25 crores.
However, traders are hopeful about Diwali and expect business worth Rs100 crore per day during the season, added Manghani.
