'Magic of Fur' in Moscow

MEXA MOSCOW is now firmly established as the order trade fair of the industry: More Russian and international fur clothing producers than ever were on location at the event. Companies from 13 nations were present. Russia, Greece, China, Germany and Italy were represented in particular strength.
The Karakul Board of Namibia took part in the international trade fair for the first time. The committee travelled to Moscow on the occasion of celebration the 100th anniversary of Swakara – the breeding of Karakul sheep with their incomparably silky and flat curled skins in Namibia since 1907. The ambassador of the Namibian Embassy in Moscow, Dr. Sam. K. Mbambo, said he were highly impressed by MEXA.
The daily and highly professional fashion shows presented by 18 of the exhibitors proved a huge success among the visitors. The presentations directed by Russian star choreograph Anatoly Kulakov stressed in dramatic form the qualities of the materials and the exceptional creations that are available.
The fashion shows clearly demonstrated the multi-facetted nature of the fur and leather processing industries – and did a great deal to let a lot of visitors and exhibitors experience the ”Magic of Fur” in a highly tangible form” is how Erich Fichtner CEO of the exhibition organiser Ost-West-Partner summarised the show atmosphere.
The autumn MEXA MOSCOW event will be held from 12 to 14 October 2007 – under the motto ”Season of Fur” and it will mark the start of the new fur season. The internationally celebrated designer and furrier master Michael Hasse will once again be leading a fur processing seminar at MEXA. Others who will be attending the MEXA October are: the auction houses Saga Furs, Finnish Fur Sales, Oslo Fur Sales and American Legend.
