Production increases by 6.2% between April 2006 & 2007

On an annual basis production for Manufacturing Industries in April 2007 was 6.2% higher than in April 2006. The “Modern” Sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production for April 2007 of 7.3%, while an increase of 2.9% was recorded in the “Traditional” Sector.
The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for the three month period February to April 2007 was 3.9% higher than the preceding three month period.
The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover index for manufacturing industries was 4.9% higher in the three month period February to April 2007 when compared with the preceding three month period.
On an annual basis turnover in April 2007 was 17.6% higher when compared with April 2006.
