In 2003 Beijing Hanhai auction, a Qing Dynasty Queen's wishful pattern velvet carpet sold at the price of 750,000 yuan. In 2006 the East Museum auction, a rare silk carpet for use of an emperor in middle Qing Dynasty sold at the proud price of 2.2 million yuan.
In the international auction market, high carpet prices are common occurrence, especially limited edition of hand-woven carpets in up-market.
With the development and growth of middle class, Chinese carpets have become their choice of upgrading consumption. Currently, the carpets at the price of about 10,000 yuan in middle and lower markets and at the price above 100,000 yuan are the best selling items.
