SPV awaits green signal to set up new production unit

Global demand for viscose fiber is growing rapidly. Recognizing this, the largest manufacturer in Indonesia, PT South Pacific Viscose (SPV), is planning to boost is production capacity next year.
Spokesperson for the Company confirmed to Fibre2fashion that it proposed setting up new production plant to its parent company, Lenzing.
“SPV is still in talks with the Lenzing's top brass and is seeing optimistic progress. The proposed unit will raise annual production by 500,00 metric tons with an investment of US $120 million.”
He explained that Lenzing is analyzing global demand of viscose fiber, which can be related to the Polyester and Cotton global price wise.
However, the source beamed, “Company's total output will then go up to 200000 metric tons per year.”
