Bremen cotton market - retained demand

The Cotlook A Index followed this pattern. Offers from the countries of origin were firm, if available at all.
The offering prices of the merchants, calculated on replacement from origin, ranged however on a level which induced the spinning mills to act correspondingly reserved.
Preponderantly lots for near dates were traded to cover urgent supply.
In the Upland range turnovers were registered in Central Asian sorts for prompt, in the 2nd and 3rd quarter 2007 as well as for the 1st quarter 2008; West African types for prompt and further in the 3rd and 4th quarter 2007 and Greek descriptions for loading in the 2nd and 3rd quarter 2007.
In the long staple range, one lot of Sudan Barakat cotton changed hands for prompt delivery.
