Purchase price of Zhejiang Spring Cocoons slides

According to the Price Monitoring Center of Zhejiang Province, the average start purchase price of Spring Cocoons is down 263.33 yuan per 50 kg from the same time last year, a drop of nearly 25.57 percent.
As of June 5, the average acquisition price for Spring Cocoons was 1,030 yuan per 50 kg. the purchase price in the main producing areas Jiaxing City was about 940 yuan per 50 kg, a fall of 23.5 percent from 1,228 yuan per 50 kg of the same period last year.
In Huzhou, the average acquisition price was 1,010 yuan per 50 kg, a drop of 242 yuan per 50 kg, or less 19.33 percent from the same time last year.
The Center points out that China's silk commodity exports face mounting pressure this year as exports are decreasing while imports increase. Leading price in White Steam Filature is weak and driving purchase price of Spring Cocoons lower.
