Also speakers in the Trend Corner take a stand on ecological fashion. For example, Alex Nieminen lectures on how to use the ecological edge and ethical values as competitive advantage and efficiently in marketing. The programme in the Trend Corner also includes a panel discussion on ecological fashion.

Tailor Arman Alizad gives advice on meeting the fashion needs of Finnish men. Designer Jasmine Julin-Aro presents the latest news on smart clothing and wearable technology with the title “Design or Innovation?”, and Stylist Teri Niitti talks about accessories also from the viewpoint of boosting sales.

Susanna Vilkkula's professional touch is again on display in the Collection show 2008 fashion shows which present the latest collections of the exhibitors for spring and summer 2008.

Launched in January, the Urban Look special area for youth and leisure time fashion brings fresh and youthful fashion shows to the event by Kalle Kuusela and Kristian Lindgren. Trends for spring and summer 2008 are introduced by Johanna Salovaara on her lectures.

The Trend Fabrik exhibition unveils the trends of the future with the help of different colours and fabrics and from the different perspectives of design by four young textile designers.

Visitors can deepen their professional knowledge at the fair. Shoe sales professionals are trained by Ari Arkia on the structure of shoe, materials, latest fashion and maintenance. Johanna Pursiainen from The Association of Fashion Retailers in Finland organizes training for fashion professionals.The training gives advice on promoting sales with the help of garments, interior decoration materials and colours.

The Young Designer of the Year is this year awarded for the 13th time. First organized in 1995 this competition is open for all students in fashion and the aim is to discover new talents, fresh ideas and solutions in design.

It also boosts the industry and encourages new talents. The winner receives a grant of 5000€ from the Finnish Fair Foundation, own fair stand at the Fashion Fair and the winner's designs are on display at the fashion shows. Journalist Jaakko Selin is the chairman of the jury.
