“Germany's industry is in favor of an integrated energy and climate protection policy that supports competition,” said Chairman of Board of Executive Directors Dr. Jurgen Hambrecht, commenting on today's energy summit in Berlin.
“The chemical industry has played a key role in helping to achieve this and will continue to do so in the future. I also fully support this. However, I do not believe in a policy that sets a restrictive framework and overambitious targets. I have learned in over 30 years at BASF that unrealistic demands lead to confusion and failure to achieve success.”
Hambrecht signaled that he will play an active role in the ongoing political discussion. "What is important is that we can see the will to achieve a common objective and strategy. We are glad to offer our expertise in achieving these goals."
BASF is the world's leading chemical company: The Chemical Company. Its portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products, agricultural products and fine chemicals to crude oil and natural gas.
