The report said that to write an RMG success story, the Bangladesh garment industry as well as the government must work hand in hand. "Foremost among these is the development of vocational and other educational programs that will support the industry's need for more highly-skilled domestic labour, including line and production managers," the evaluation states.
It further said that government must take steps to spruce up infrastructure to streamline custom procedures.
Yet another suggestion the report makes is that Bangladesh should expand its business boundaries to newer destinations like Japan, China and India.
"This may help Bangladesh sustain its growth in the increasingly competitive global market, particularly since it is well placed to absorb business in low-end and medium garment market."
