Quota-expiry propels textile cos to improve export strategies

According to the provisions, today onwards, existing quotas on 10 kinds of the textile goods will be cancelled formally.
According to the Head of Yangzhou CIQ, textile goods producing enterprises of the city are prepared to follow the export management order and adjust the export product system quickly. This strategy will help them to achieve desired development of the textile goods export to EU in the present year.
The textile industry is considered to be one of the pillars of earning foreign currency for Yangzhou city in Jiangsu Province. European Union is believed to be one of the biggest export markets for the region's textile industry.
This cancellation of quota to Europe will benefit about 240 export enterprises of the city. However, experts from Yangzhou CIQ point out that Yangzhou city textile goods lacks independent brandings and labour cost on the higher side.
Industry professionals advise that Yangzhou textile industry should emphasize on development of environment protecting products and enhance the brand consciousness further by increasing the export proportion of the self-owned brand products. Reinforce the communication and cooperation with international buyers.
