The LANXESS Business Unit Basic Chemicals is increasing its prices worldwide for its entire product portfolio by five per cent with immediate effect.
The primary factors behind this measure are higher raw material and energy expenses, but rising logistics costs have also played a role.
Holger Hueppeler, Head of Marketing in the Business Unit Basic Chemicals said, that the considerable increases which the industry had to face within the last couple of months can not be adsorbed in any way by productivity increases within the own production.
LANXESS is a leader in specialty chemicals with 2006 sales of EUR 6.94 billion and around 14,500 employees in 21 countries. The company is represented at 47 production sites worldwide. The core business of LANXESS is the development, manufacture and sale of specialty chemicals, plastics, rubber and intermediates.
