Even when the age old companies like Brown Wooten Mills and Gildan have shifted their sock plants to other places, Nester Hosiery is expanding its business and minting money in Mount Airy, North Carolina.
Nester Hosiery is manufacturing outdoor-gear socks for more than 30 clothing enterprises all over the country. The statistics reveal that for over the last eight years, the company has seen a yearly growth of 25 percent. Nester Hosiery began with 25 employees in Dobson 14 years ago, is now generating jobs for workers who lost their employment after many companies pulled down their shutters.
The company manufactures outdoor socks, using performance yarns taking great care with quality, creating high-end specialty socks. Nester has made its presence felt and is not going to get affected by other enterprises in the same business.
