Purista's eco-benefits for textiles

Peter Cowey, of Arch Chemicals said:
“So far, the majority of the environmental focus for textiles has been on the manufacturing stage, but there are significant potential savings when consumers opt to wash items less frequently. This 'wash less' approach offers consumers time and cost benefits, and also reduces their environmental impact on resource consumption and associated CO2 emissions.”

Mr. Cowey adds, “Environmental issues are at the forefront of both retailers and consumers minds, and this research shows that Purista-treated garments can enable consumers to make significant environmental savings. We are now looking to work with retailers, brands and manufacturers to introduce this benefit on a range of textiles.”

Tests were carried out on a 100% cotton terry, dyed, 600g towel washed at 40°C over 100 washes.
