Cationic yarn market shrinks amid upward consolidation

Last week, price of semi-bright polyester chip slightly fell in the first few days in Shingze market, but cationic yarn price was relatively stable. By the weekend, market buyout price for short-distance transportation and delivery to buyer within 6 months was 11300-11400 yuan per ton. Based on this support, cationic yarn price in Shengze market during the week was merely steady.
However, due to weak purchasing power from lower reaches, especially having a snowy weekend, cationic yarn trade volume was extremely low. Some products showed a declining price trend.
From varieties movement in Shengze market, sales of cationic yarns of 75 D/36F, 100D/36F was good. It is reported that fabrics made from 75 D/36F, 100D/36F will be put into market in large quantities after the Spring Festival. As a result, many enterprises have started production of such woven fabrics, which gives impetus to demand of these yarns.
Polyester raw materials and semi-bright polyester chips from upstream sectors are in fluctuations, but many weaving enterprises in downstream sector have stopped production. So, cationic yarn quotations will keep a moderate downward trend.
In addition, the direct spinning device of 80,000 tons per year in Wujiang will stop production for overhaul. Starting from early February, maintenance period is tentatively scheduled for 10 days.
