Mr. Dinsha Patel highlights important features of NELP-VII

They emphasised the strong fundamentals as well as the attractiveness of the E&P sector in India and concluded that the investment climate in India was indeed positive with very attractive fiscal terms under NELP.
For the first time in NELP promotional road show, a presentation by a leading Indian offshore service providers was also included to assure the investors of the growing availability of services in India.
In order to provide access to information such as salient technical data on the blocks on offer, the bid documents and highlights of NELP-VII, a special web site has been created. This website can also be accessed from the Ministry's official website.
To facilitate data viewing by Exploration and Production companies, the Government of India would also be opening data centres at Noida/Delhi, Houston, London, Calgary and Perth.
The data for NELP-VII can be viewed by companies at any of these centres as well as online through website and thereafter interested companies may purchase data.
Data viewing facilities at London will be available until the end of March 2008. As of 13 companies have already booked for NELP-VII data viewing at London data room. The major companies include ENI, Total, MOL, MITTAL, BP, StatoilHydro, Harvest Natural Resources.
The bid closing date for NELP-VII is 11th April, 2008. It is expected that NELP-VII would attract a very good response from E&P companies and prospective investors and they would avail of the attractive investment opportunities being offered through NELP-VII.
Government is committed to complete evaluation, award and signing of Production Sharing Contracts in a strict time frame and the whole process would be completed in a transparent manner in 3 to 4 months from bid closing date as demonstrated in past rounds of NELP.
