'The World of Wool' in Las Vegas

The Woolmark International Carpet Inspection Scheme will continue to be a focus for the Woolmark Booth at Surfaces, Las Vegas from 30 January – 1 February, alongside Color and Interior Textiles trends for 2009/10 and highlighting the benefits of the Woolmark licensing programme.

Woolmark have continued the collaboration at Surfaces with the British Wool Marketing Board, which is encompassed under 'The World of Wool' banner. Woolmark's continuing involvement in leading international trade fairs promoting wool and licensee products to retailers, buyers and designers is creating a network of global connections, putting people in touch throughout the wool textile pipeline.

Balta Industries and Godfrey Hirst USA are leading floorcovering licensees who are promoting their ranges at the show. Balta offer the exclusive distribution of tufted wool products through the Stanton Carpet Corporation, New York.

Whilst Godfrey Hirst are launching their new Merino wool carpet program featuring the finest carpet wool from Australian Merino wool, this will be promoted alongside their range of new, innovative tufted wool broadloom collections.

Floorcovering trends continue to favour wool, and whilst competitive pricing in the flooring market, market trends and consumer confidence all have their place in the decision making, wool floorcoverings are clearly back in fashion:
• Current trade among many retailers has shown a greater proportion of floor space in the showroom has been given over to carpet.
