Eterna Mode successful with Oeko-Tex Standards

In line with a globally recognised testing and certification system, the label "Confidence in textiles" of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (created in 1992) provides consumers with the safety that the labelled textile products do not pose any health concerns with regards to potential harmful substances.
Since 1995 companies also have the option to be certified according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 1000. This certification applies only to the production sites and assumes an environmentally friendly production with excellent working conditions (including the absence of child labour, among other things).
The inspection of the businesses is carried out by auditors who are commissioned by one of the members of the Oeko-Tex testing association. The certificate is valid for three years and must be renewed on a regular basis. At the moment, 36 textile and clothing manufacturers worldwide possess an Oeko-Tex Standard 1000 certificate.
A successful test according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 as well as the certification of production conditions according to Oeko-Tex Standard 1000 are essential prerequisites for a product or product line to be certified and labeled with Oeko-Tex Standard 100plus. Furthermore, proof must be provided that the entire production chain, i.e. each individual production step regardless of where it takes place, is certified according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 1000.
For consumers this means sustainability in textile production within a product range that can appear to be unmanageable at times. For the manufacturers, the self-imposed obligations that result from an environmentally friendly business strategy are increasingly becoming advantageous marketing instruments which enable them to differentiate themselves from other competitors through a positive self-representation of their environmental and social performance.
