Government of China has urged the export oriented enterprises to apply for certificates demanded by the Italy Customs, to avoid any loss of foreign revenues.
In a bid to prevent bird sickness from spreading in Italy, the Italian Government came out with regulations of the new sanitation certificate.
Already in effect from January 1, 2008, exporters of feather and related products to Italy will have to adhere to certain regulatory norms. This will include presenting veterinary certificate that must approve to six major sanitation rules like good quality of feather and down products like clothes, clearance of dust, primary wash, proper rinse, dehydration and drying for over 60 minutes in container with 2-3 atmospheric pressure.
The rules have become so stringent that unless the certificates are provided, exporters will not find an entry for their products into the Italian market. Customs department of Italy would rather have the goods stock up at the ports than allow them without qualified credentials.
