Interior Lifestyle to be perfect for home textiles suppliers

Interior Lifestyle, Japan – a perfect business platform to create a foothold in the home décor market in Japan Market prospects for home textiles imports in Japan are expected to grow continuously The term “home textiles” has been somewhat unfamiliar in Japan for a long time.

However, recent years have seen the increase in the number of consumers who enjoy coordinating home textiles with the rest of home interior, and who care about qualities and design, when purchasing them.

Reflecting growing interest in interiors among consumers, demand for home textile products of good design that can meet new consumer lifestyles become strong. Home textile imports have been growing steadily.

In 2004 imports broke the JPY80 billion mark for first time, rising by 5.0% from the year before to JPY83.3 billion. Total import volume reached 127.6 million dozen (up 7.0% from the year before), setting a new all time record.

As the mainstays of the housing related market will be eventually people now in the 30s and 40s, people who have grown up with a more Westernized life style, market prospects for home textiles imports are expected to grow continuously.

For international companies, it is not particularly difficult to enter into Japanese home textile market, but is essential to find proper sales network.

Home textiles from the West are normally imported to Japan through trading companies, and then are distributed via wholesalers and dealer agents to department stores, lifestyle shops and other retail outlets.
