Continuation of TUF a good step - Dhanlaxmi Fabrics

Fibre2fashion contacted Mr Vinod Jhawar, Managing Director of Dhanlaxmi Fabrics Ltd. to know whether his expectations have been met from the Union Budget 2008-09.
Mr Jhawar disappointingly said, “I am not happy with the budget.” He added, “nothing has been done for the textile industry in the budget, though continuation of TUF was a good step.”
Dhanlaxmi Fabrics MD, further stated, “Under the TUF, funds are not released on time and are not received as and when needed. Of course, increase in the exemption limit in personal income taxes will add to the purchasing power of an individual, which translates into an increase in spending on lifestyle products eventually benefiting the textile and retail industry.”
Mr Jhawar concluded by saying promise from Mr Chidambaram to help the industry when required, is the only ray of hope.
