Halkai district of Istanbul is all set to be Turkey's first export technopark. The project will be jointly implemented by the Turkish Exporter's Assembly (TIM) and the Marmara University with the objective to increase the competitiveness of domestic products in international market.

Not only will the technopark help industrialist to strengthen their position in global markets, it will also enable the companies to manufacture technological products for adding higher value to the exports.

The project is within the framework of the 'Technological Development Regions Law', and the deal concerning it will be reached in the upcoming days at a meeting with the ministers.

A decision has also been taken for establishing a company for the administration of the technopark. This company will come into operation within three months of signing the contract for the project.

Experts believe that since this project relies completely on research and development, it will turn out to be the world's strongest production technopark.
