A Government owned fabric factory at Long An Province in Ben Luc district was seen turning into ashes on March 8, when a massive fire broke out at the manufacturing plant.

Well known as the Vina Chung Sing, the factory caught fire early in the morning and continued for seven hours until 11 am in the morning when the situation was brought under control with the help of fire tenders.

Although the 500 workers in the factory managed to escape any injury, reports show that a loss of US $3.75 million has been caused to the owner.

Most of the cotton fabric, yarn and textile materials stored in the factory, worth VND60 billion, was destroyed in the blaze. Reason behind the cause of fire is not discovered yet and investigation is still under process.
