Ethylene prices see a steep plunge

Ethylene, the most produced organic compound in the world, is considered as one of the important raw materials in textiles and organic chemical industry. It is an inflammable, colourless gaseous alkene, obtained from petroleum and natural gas.
Ethylene prices, on March 11 and 12, showed down trend. Prices for Asian, Far Eastern as well as European regions saw a steep plunge compared to last week.
Asia region ethylene prices (Mar 11):
Ethylene, CFR Northeast Asia, at US $1190-1200 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CFR Southeast Asia, at US $1090-1100 per metric ton.
Far East region ethylene prices(Mar 12):
Ethylene, FOB Korea, at US $1200 per metric ton.
Ethylene, FOB Japan, at US $1200 per metric ton.
Europe ethylene prices(Mar 12):
Ethylene, FD Northwest Europe, at Euro 997-999 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CIF Northwest Europe, at US $ 1325.5-1327.5 per metric ton.
