In the month of February, China exported 312.52 million meters of polyester filament fabrics, showing a fall of 230.2 million meters or 42.42 percent from January. A year-on-year decline of 23.37 percent can also be seen.
However, during this month, a hike in price is observed, with average export price at US $0.85 meter, up 4.37 percent from the previous month, representing a 10.24 percent increase over the same period last year.
The cumulative exports of polyester filament fabrics in the first two months touched 855.24 million meters, showing an increase of 2.57 percent against similar period 2007. There was a rise in the average export price which stood at $0.83 percent, a boost of 7.51 percent year-on-year.
Talking about imports, the country purchased 35.88 million meters of polyester filament fabrics in the month of February, demonstrating a fall of 20.12 million meters from the month earlier, registering a decline of 35.93 percent.
Average import price in this month stood at $1.45 per meter, with a jump of $0.11 per meter from the previous month, and 8.07 percent compared with the same time of prior year. The figures represent a year-on-year rise of 29.09 percent.
The country imported 91.88 million meters of polyester filament fabrics in the first two months of the present year, depicting a fall of 17.29 percent. The average import price for the product was at $1.40 per meter, showing an increase of 29.35 percent over the same period last year.
