Govt to fund energy saving & anti-pollution projects

In a bid to save energy and reduce environmental pollution, the Government of China would cater 27 billion yuan as special funds through the Chinese Treasury Department.
Of the allotted sum, 7.5 billion yuan will be assigned for ten of the biggest energy saving projects, another 7 billion for cleaning areas or cities in the middle of west China, 4 for extirpating backward equipments and technologies and 5 billion yuan for removing water pollutants from some of the rivers.
Apart from this, the Government will also provide 3.5 billion yuan for environmental supervision and energy saving work.
An additional 14.8 billion yuan will be given by the central authorities for some exclusive energy saving and pollution prevention projects.
On the whole total funds for energy saving and emission reduction will amount to 41.8 billion yuan.
